New batteries (under 1 month) each read 12.6V disconnected. I tried shorting the starter solenoid with a screwdriver, just made a few sparks.

The CP4 was clean and good when CP3 conversion was done. The CP3 was only done as insurance. No starting issues over the past 2 years. Truck could sit outside in cold MI winter and would start right up.Pull each injector return line one at a time and crank. If there is more then just a small spit coming from an injector, its returning too much. When it goes into reduced engine, the ECM turns off the injector on the cylinder that is knocking, and it goes away. Guessing you can figure out which cylinder it is by turning off injectors with a scan tool.The Duramax trucks do not have a fuel pump, so when you change the fuel filter, you have to re-prime the system by using the primer button on the Fuel filter housing. If it starts after priming and there aren’t any visible leaks, replace the filter housing.If you got fresh fuel in the can, and the stock filter is in place, change the filter on the truck, pour 911 in the new filter and some in the 5 gallon container. Run the supply tube from the pump into the can and start priming the fuel through until you get a good stream. Close the bleeder pump til hard and try to start.
