Borderlands is one of my favorite games, and still my favorite game in the series. I'm excited for you! Lilith really is a beast, and her skill tree is super versatile. Running an smg and focusing on her elemental tree is a good way to go OP later in the game. Her phase shifting is also a lot of fun, and works as a great "oh shit!" skill in combat.

You basically just want to maximize the absurdity of phasewalk. Must have skills centered around phasewalk are Inner Glow (health regen), Hard to Get (decrease cooldown), Silent Resolve (damage resistance), Hit & Run (duration), and Blackout (cooldown). RaHowever, the Double Stinger can't be overlooked either, as it gives you insane fire rate as well as accuracy, making it a good ranged weapon while still getting her SMG bonus. I think it makes the game better. Thats what its all about is making a build that can destroy your enemies and keep you alive. Lilith just makes this goal easier.
